Get Started
Bianca (They/Them)
Hey everyone! I’m Bianca Alvarado, one of the co-presidents for La Familia’s 2023-2024 board team. This is my last year at UC Davis with a double major in English and Chicane Studies. I have been involved in La Familia since Fall of 2022, and being able to have a community on campus, I’m extremely grateful to be leading such a beautiful organization. La Familia has not only helped me create new friendships and memories but has also helped me navigate higher education as a first-generation student. La Familia is a space for our community to feel safe, welcomed, and supported. We offer financial and professional development opportunities on campus, along with tons of social events for people to find their own familia. Subscribe to our newsletter if you want to learn more about our events!
Vida (She/Her)
¡Bienvenides a todes! My name is Vida Sánchez (she/they/ella) and I am a co-presidenta at LaFa! I am a second year Master’s student in Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on water justice. I joined LaFa in the fall of 2022, and have since been a part of a blossoming queer/trans Latine community that I feel so proud to be a part of. I have never felt as seen as I feel in LaFa spaces for most of my life. It is incredibly liberating to be in community with a diverse collective of friends and share laughs and stories. We hope La Familia is a community you want to be a part of!
